ABOUT US
GULF COAST TECHNICAL INSTITUTE (GCTI) was formerly known as PAC WORKS INC. was founded in September of 2014. It services the Oil & Gas industry with quality technicians. We are in Baytown, Texas; a town which has strong roots in the early development of oil and gas. GCTI existence came about due to the realization that companies could not find qualified entry-level technicians that would be able to jumpstart with the basic skills necessary to be successful as they enter the instrumentation and analyzer fields.
In addition, technicians that were in the industry for several years did not have the necessary credentials needed to be successful Journeyman Instrument, Analyzer Technicians, or Analyzer Specialists.
GULF COAST TECHNICAL INSTITUTE provides intensive hands-on training to entry-level techs to get them ready for entry-level jobs and offers analyzer classes to experienced technicians who were ready to move to the next level in their careers. Our instructor to student ratio is low to give the student maximum attention and advantage.
GCTI Trained Technicians learn:
-
Electrical troubleshooting basics
-
Instrument troubleshooting basics
-
Basics of measuring flow, pressure, level, and temperature
-
Understanding P&IDs
-
Analyzer and Sample Systems troubleshooting
-
Understanding Control Loops
-
Commissioning
-
PLC and Ladder Logic
GULF COAST TECHNICAL INSTITUTE training is aligned with the nationally recognized curriculum. Upon completion, our students will have a wealth of new knowledge and can move forward in taking the industry standard written assessment and/or the hands-on Performance Verification (PV) for Instrumentation. The written assessment shows what you know, while the PV demonstrates what you can do.
